Hosting
Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA, hosts this site. When you open a page, Vercel processes technical data in its server logs: your IP address, the page you requested, the time and your browser type. Vercel needs this to deliver the site and protect it from attacks, and holds a certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, my interest in a working and secure site.
Analytics
I count visits with Umami Cloud by Umami Software, Inc. Umami sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, which is why you see no consent banner. It records the page you open, the page you came from, your country, browser and device type, and clicks on a few links such as the booking button. Umami does not store your IP address and cannot follow you across sites or visits.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, my interest in knowing which pages help visitors.
Fonts
The fonts load from this site’s own server. Your browser sends no request to Google or any other font provider.
Booking a call
The booking button opens my scheduling page at Cal.com, Inc. in the USA, and the Cal.com privacy policy applies there. If you book, Cal.com processes your name, email address and chosen time and passes them to me so we can hold the call.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps you ask for before a possible contract.
If you write to me, I use your address and message to reply. I delete the conversation once it has ended, unless the law requires me to keep it.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR.
Self-check PDF
You download the PDF without an email address or sign-up. Apart from the server logs above, I collect nothing for it.
Other sites
LinkedIn, GitHub and the other sites I link to run under their own privacy policies once you open them.
Your rights
You can ask me which data I hold about you and have it corrected, deleted, restricted or handed to you in a portable format (Art. 15 to 20 GDPR). You can object at any time to processing based on my legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR). An email to manuel@manuelblinkert.com is enough.
You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
